Summer is a time for getting out (and then back into the a/c), being with family, and according to the numerous faux holidays that involve food – eating your weight in sweets. There’s National Doughnut Day, National Fudge Day, Sugar Cookie Day, Gummy Worm Day, and Ice Cream Day, to name a few. In honor of these days dedicated to all things sugar, here are a few of the notable places you can indulge your sweet tooth in Las Vegas.
Popcorn Girl
As the name suggests, you can find Popcorn at Popcorn Girl in a variety of flavors like Banana Pudding, Bubblicious, Chipotle Bbq, Dill Pickle, along with faves like Chicago Mix, Movie Theatre Butter, and Caramel. If the flavors aren’t enough for you, you can also add toppings to your popcorn, such as M&Ms, Skittles, and Reese’s Pieces. In addition to wonderfully popped treats, you can also grab fudge and candy there as well.
Popcorn Girl has two locations in Las Vegas and if you don’t live here you can always order online and have popcorn, fudge, or gifts shipped to you.
T-Swirl Crepe
Need some amazing sweetness to go? Then T-Swirl Crepe is your destination!
T-Swirl features Japanese Crepes that are made from a gluten free rice flour batter and filled with amazingness. The crispy layer can be snuggled around sweet flavors — Blueberry NY Cheesecake, Matcha Azuki Bean, Fruit Cocktail, Banana Chocolate, Chocolate Nut Party and more – or savory (more like a salad wrap). In addition to crepes, T-Swirl also offers gelato, fruit slushes, milk and fruit teas.
Creamberry
I’m going to be honest, this list could be only Creamberry and your sweet tooth would be more than satisfied. I included Creamberry on my ice cream post a while ago (because hello, Vegas heat), but I would be remiss if I left it off any list that involves sugary goodness.
Creamberry started off as an innocent ice cream shop that served the usual – ice cream, waffles, smoothie bowls, but has since become known for their unique desserts. When I say unique, I mean that nothing they offer is as it seems (or may be something that makes you say, ‘um, what?’). For instance, if you were to order toast here, it would include a giant piece of bread, topped with Nutella, fruit, ice cream, and whip. A milkshake is a tower of whip, brownies, and chocolate that makes you wonder how you can start to eat it. If that isn’t enough for you, perhaps the cotton candy burrito (yes, you read that right) or the rolled ice cream (which resembles an ice cream filled taco topped with cake) will launch you toward your sugar coma goals.
Rocket Fizz
Full disclosure, Rocket Fizz is a franchise, but I thought it was too fun to leave out. Think old school candy shop with a bold punk twist. Along with saltwater taffy, nostalgic candies, modern faves, and local sweets, you can find some seriously hilarious soda flavors like Unicorn Yack, Butter Soda, Grass Soda, and for those of you who like drinking the pickle brine – Pickle Soda. Yum?
Rocket Fizz can be found within Area 15.
Honorable ‘on the strip’ mention – Candy Martini Bar @ I Love Sugar
Last, but not least, is one very Vegas selection that is on the strip. Within the multi-story sweet palace known as I Love Sugar, you will find the Candy Martini Bar. A visit here isn’t for the faint of heart – the drinks are both ginormous and cost a fair chunk of change. However, if you want to indulge your sweet tooth and have an adult bevy, this is your ultimate destination.
Choose from Giant Candy Martinis like the Three Gummy Bear, which features peach vodka, sour apple and watermelon pucker, sweet and sour mix, and sprite, topped with a mountain of gummy bears. You can also go for a regular, normal sized, cocktail all garnished with sugary confections. Just in the mood for alcoholic bears? Choose from vodka or tequila gummies or just go for one of several sugar shots.
